🍜Noodle Zero

We haven't heard of konjac noodles before but thanks to @noodlezero for gifting us these delicious noodles. Konjac also known as shirataki noodles is an Asian root vegetable that is full of fibre and has been used for centuries in East Asia.

The noodles were very easy to make (under 3 mins) and the instructions provided were straightforward. We were surprised on how smooth, bouncy and tasty the noodles were.

🍗Chicken

Both tomato and seafood were our favourite flavours. They each had their unique taste. Definitely a great alternative when you craving noodles with low calories, no MSG and high in fibre!

The Black truffle don is a combination of my favourite ingredients - Truffle foie gras and wagyu 😍 However, sometimes combining too many expensive ingredients into one small bowl can be overwhelming and does not synergize well. Additionally, it was super expensive and we felt like we couldn't justify the cost.

The tuna sashimi don was an enjoyable dish but it was nothing memorable. The sashimi was soft and had a nice rice ratio. However, it was quite pricey for what you get.

All the desserts were colourful and delicious. It was a great way to end the meal! Our favourite was the Murasaki Imo shibuya toast. The toast was crispy on the outside and had a fluffy texture inside. The Murasaki Imo (purple sweet potato) was smooth and had the perfect sweetness 😋

Dokidoki, I thought this meant nervous in Japanese

Dokidoki, I thought this meant nervous in Japanese but after a quick google search, it actually means excitement. Anyways... we're here to talk about food and not my many years of clearly failing japanese class 😅

The stand-out dish was the sashimi taco. The taco shell was crispy and complimented the creamy sashimi and avocado. So so good that we went for seconds at the end 😍😍. The foie gras and scampi dishes were delicious, all so fatty and filling that we would not recommend too many pieces.

The dishes we were shocked by was the ox tongue, this tasted more like pork chashu... Not the flavour nor texture we were expecting. The pan seared scallop with garlic butter didn't have the butter flavour we were expecting. The surf and turf nigiri consisted of sea urchin with wagyu. The sea urchin was definitely quite overpowering and made it difficult to really taste the other ingredient.

The aburi selection included salmon, tuna, kingfish, snapper, wagyu and scallop. All the aburi nigiris were perfectly seared and soft. 😋 Overall, it was a enjoyable dinner with some items that were amazing and some which were underwhelming.

YEEEEE WE ARE BACK!! 🎉💕 Sorry for the lack of posts lately, we had a lot happening in our lives and needed a rest. We are now recharged and ready to continue on our food adventures and we bring to you another Ramen post 🙊

Unfortunately, today we heard some sad news that Ramen Kaio is closing down. We totally loved their concept as it is similar to Ichiran! You get to customise your own order such as the type and firmness of the noodles, and the amount of flavour of the broth.

The chashu was tasty and plentiful, they definitely didn't hold back on portions. Quite heavy on the fat on each piece which is perfect for those who love their pork to be full of flavour.

We are sad they are leaving and wish them all the best on their next project! 💖

IIKO Mazesoba serves a special kind of ramen - it is soup-less!! The idea behind their creation is to stir the toppings, condiments and noodles together.

We found friends that wanted to flex with us and order everything on the truffle menu...'Everyday we're shufflin' - Shake That!' 🎤 It was absolutely fun and delightful to meet @thesecondfeed_ and her boyfriend! We had a great time hanging with y'all 🥰

Our favourite dishes were the Truffle Mazesoba and Prawn Croquette. The truffle mazesoba was so creamy and the perfectly inside truffle flavour tasted as good as it smelt.

The Prawn Croquette was cooked to perfection with the crunch of the outer layer and sweet snap of the prawn 👌

The Double Choc Chip Cookies was our favourite treat - it was quite rich and had a nice consistency throughout! The gooey-ness in the centre was on point when heated up. Highly recommend to serve this with a glass of milk too - perfect combination 👌💕

Monstera is a cute and aesthetic cafe located in Mosman Bay Wharf with beautiful views! Definitely call in to book a sit next to the window for those instagrammable shots 🙊

This Izakaya and Ramen bar is the place to be if you're an umami focused foodie! The ramen had a rich flavour whilst not being too heavy. It was topped with thiccccc pieces of chashu that melted in our mouths and an umami egg that made a simple ramen just right 👌

P.S. I attempted to do an instagrammable noodle pull shot but got this instead 😅

Just have a look at the volcano-esque icing decoration oozing off to the sides of the cake!! It's such a work of art! 💖

All the cute mini bundt cakes were filled with mixed berries and topped with different flavoured icing

The mini bundt cakes exceeded our expectations, as gluten free cakes tend to get a little dry and crumbly. This was not the case from Golly's baking! It was fluffy, moist and had a good ratio of icing to the cake. The Berry icing combined with the white chocolate balanced well together.

It was the right amount of sweetness that you'd want in any cupcake - but definitely wasn't overpowering. The balance of flavours was perfectly crafted from the cake all the way to the icing.

✨Lotus Biscuit Pancake
Pancakes served with strawberries, banana, glazed caramel topped with a Biscoff cookie and vanilla icecream.

This pancake stack was dusted with biscoff biscuits and drenched in glazed caramel sauce which was not overly sweet. It was extremely airy and fluffy. Eating this made me feel like I was in pancake heaven 🥰

Everything about this place was perfect. It exceeded our expectations in almost every way possible. This is definitely one of our new favourite Japanese restaurants with high quality food and incredible service ❤️. We would love to go back again to try out their other dishes too!! 🥰

You gotta check out their dessert menu too!! We highly recommend the Kaya Toast Macaron - it is hands down one of the best desserts we have ever had in our lives!! This photo cannot give it justice due to my work in progress food photography skills 😂😂

-- This is the fattiest part of the tuna and it practically melts in your mouth 🤤. It was so rich and soft, that would make you wanting more!! Seeing the exquisite marbling on the ootoro, I knew it'll have a rich and creamy taste - which definitely was the case 👌. It's quite hard to find high quality tuna belly in Sydney. This definitely brought back memories of the high quality Ootoro in Japan.

-- Every piece was fresh and soft, and perfectly well balanced. The egg and cucumber was refreshing and added a touch of sweetness to the fish.
